Training & Sparring Safety Rules

Leverage BJJ believes in improving the skill of all BJJ practitioners. Classes are taught on concepts and techniques, followed by specific drills, and always end with rolling. These safety rules apply to every sparring session on our mats in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur.

General Rules

  1. No kicking, punching, striking, biting, fish-hooking, scratching, pinching, clawing, eye-gouging, ear-grabbing, hair pulling or squeezing of the groin.
  2. No slamming and no spiking your partner on the head. No takedown that accomplishes slamming or spiking.
  3. Release the hold when your partner taps with hands, feet or verbally. Tap early and tap fast to avoid injury.
  4. No jumping closed guard (pulling guard is fine). No scissor takedown from standing.
  5. No grabbing any less than 4 fingers or 5 toes.
